Most people assume that more is better and when it comes to hair loss solutions, people definitely believe this. Rogaine for Men comes in two flavors, 2% and 5% extra strength. We receive quite a few questions from people about Men’s Minoxidil and how it differs from Women’s Minoxidil. To answer those questions, the 2% Minoxidil we sell is the same for both men and women. It is a 2% topical solution of Minoxidil and there is no difference in the formula from the men’s to the women’s. However, the 5% Minoxidil is another story. 5% Minoxidil has only been approved by the FDA for use by men. My rep at Pharmacia Corp. (the original makers of Rogaine) told me that 5% Rogaine/Minoxidil did not show better results when used on women, as it did on men. This was the reason that there is no 5% Rogaine or 5% Minoxidil for women. So, if you are worried about using 2% Minoxidil for men and you are a woman, don’t worry.
