Rogaine 2% for Women

Monday, April 25th, 2005

For the women out there who are dealing with hair loss, there is help. Rogaine has been approved by the FDA for use by women in a 2% topical solution. Rogaine for Women is designed to be used by women who are suffering from a general loss of hair or thinning of the hair on the top of the scalp. Rogaine is not for women who have lost a patch of hair. Just like Rogaine for men, Rogaine for Women is for women who have a history of hair loss in their family. The hair loss can be on either side of your family and the old tale about hair loss being inherited from the mother’s side is unsubstatiated. If you fit this description, then Rogaine may help you to slow down your hair loss, stop it completely or even regrow your hair in some cases. The sooner you use Rogaine the better. Studies have shown that the earlier you treat your hair loss, the better your results will be.

Why Rogaine for Women?

Rogaine for women is the only FDA approved medication to treat hair loss in women. Rogaine has helped millions of women around the world to deal with their hair loss. Will Rogaine work for you if you have a history of hair loss and are suffering from general hair loss? Nobody knows. The only way to find out if Rogaine will work for you is to try it.

How to Use Rogaine

Rogaine is applied twice a day to the scalp. Once in the morning and once at night. It is a liquid that is made up mostly of alcohol so that it will evaporate quickly and be easily spread across the top of your scalp. Rogaine must be used for a period of at least 4 months (preferably more) to see if Rogaine will work for you. Using it for less time is a waste. You can color your hair, perm it or do anything else that you can dream of. Rogaine will not be affected by this.

Is there a 5% Solution for Women?

We are often asked if there is a 5% Rogaine solution for women. The answer is no. There were trials conducted by Pharmacia Corporation and in the end, it appears that there was no noticeable difference between the 2% solution and the 5% solution as was seen in men.

The Truth About Rogaine

Thursday, April 21st, 2005

If you have never tried Rogaine and are considering using it, there are a few key things you should know that will help you understand if Rogaine is right for you. First of all, Rogaine (Minoxidil) is designed to be used on the top of the scalp. It is not designed to grow hair on other parts of the body (you would be surprised how many questions we get about this). Rogaine is designed to be used by people who are suffering from some kind of pattern baldness. This means that if you have a history of hair loss in your family (mother OR father’s side) then Rogaine MAY help you slow your hair loss, stop it, or in some cases grow hair back. The earlier you start using Rogaine, the better. Studies have shown that the earlier you treat pattern baldness, the better.

To recap, Rogaine is for you if:

  • Have a history of hair loss in your family
  • You want to treat hair loss on the top of your scalp (general thinning of hair)

Most importantly, Rogaine will not work for everyone, even if you meet the above criteria. Rogaine has been shown to work for a little over 40% of the people who use it. The ONLY way you will find out if it works for you is to try it. You will need to apply Rogaine two times a day for a period of at least 4 months to get an idea if Rogaine will work for you. For many people, the scariest part about using Rogaine is that many people see MORE hair fall out when they first start using it. THIS IS NORMAL and actually a good sign. This means that Rogaine is working and the follicles have shed the old hair to make way for a new strand(s).

To recap:

  • Rogaine works in approximately 40% of people who use it
  • Rogaine must be applied 2 times a day
  • Rogaine must be used for a period of 4 months or more to determine if it will work for you

Lastly, you must continue to use Rogaine to retain the hair you have retained or grown back. Once you stop using Rogaine, your hair will begin to revert back to where it would have been had you not used Rogaine.

Minoxidil 2% Order Status

Wednesday, April 13th, 2005

We know that many of you have been waiting patiently for the backordered 2% Minoxidil. We are happy to announce that we were able to procure 10 cases of 2% Minoxidil four packs today and we should take delivery of them in about 7 business days. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, but it is becoming increasingly difficult these days to find a reliable source for 2% Minoxidil. The overall demand for this product is not that high as many people use the 5% solution and do not have a need for the 2%. We hope that this is the last time we will run into these supply issues, but know that if history is any indication of the future, we will at some point. Thank you for your patience.
