Cancer Treatment Improves Hair Retention
Monday, October 17th, 2005Researchers attempting to minimize hair loss associated with cancer radiation treatments have apparently found some success with existing “intensity modulated radiation therapy” (IMRT) with “image-guided radiation therapy” (IGRT) technologies. Better targeting of the radiation has apparently enabled researchers to attack the tumors and leave surrounding tissue containing hair follicles alone. If this proves true, this will be a great help to the mindset and mental health of people undergoing radiation treatment in the future.
