Quality Shampoos and Conditioners
No matter what hair loss treatment you may or may not be using, there is something that is crucial in maintaining your hair’s health, quality shampoo products. I have used many products over the years including, Progaine shampoo, Revivogen shampoo, and Nioxin. Today I am using Biolage shampoo and conditioner and I have to say, that I can really notice a difference in how my hair feels and looks. My hair is usually pretty dry, but I never really noticed this until I used a good quality hydrating shampoo. Without a quality shampoo and conditioning regimen, your scalp can dry out fast. And, if you are using products like Minoxidil or Rogaine, this may lead to some irritation on your scalp. So, do your hair a favor and spend a few extra bucks on some decent products.

My friend uses minoxidil which includes 5% lotion to prevent hair loss. Her hair though is frizzy and I suggested she also use a leave-in-conditioner. So her hair regeme would be: wash, rinse-out conditioner, leave-in-conditioner and the minoxidil. Is it ok to use all that? If not, could you suggest an alternate solution? Thanks so much. hydrodood answers:Repost from my blog about maintaining hair: Use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Sulfates are a harsh detergent which strip hair (and make that delicious foaming lather). But if you want your hair to look good when it’s dry, you have to give up the foam in the shower. Keep in mind, there is a difference between cleansing your hair and stripping your hair. Sulfate-free shampoo will get rid of the grease. Sulfates are in most drugstore shampoos and conditioners (dove, pantene, garnier). However, you can find plenty of reasonably priced sulfate-free products. Nature’s Gate Hemp Nourishing is my favorite right now (my mom loves it too). The first time I used it my hair was SHINY! That is a huge deal for me. Organix, Alba, Shea Moisture, and Burt’s bees are all sulfate-free if I remember correctly. And if you’re willing to try shampooing less, I’m sure you will see good results. You’re scalp will adjust and start producing less sebum, trust me. My hair is so much shinier and less frizzy when I shampoo less. Deep condition once a week! Coconut oil, olive oil, The Body Shop rainforest hair butter, V05 conditioning hairdressing, Redken Smooth Down butter treat, and regular conditioner all work well for me. I have tried using them overnight, but they seem to work best when I only leave on 30 minutes-1 hour or just a few minutes in the shower if I’m in a hurry. Leave in conditioner is so important for me. My hair is dry and tangled after towel-drying and I always apply a little deep conditioner or regular conditioner (I don’t actually have a real leave-in conditioner). Be gentle. After applying my leave in conditioner and maybe some styling product, I gently comb with a wide-tooth comb, put a claw clip on my crown for volume, and don’t touch, EVER. Brushing curly hair when it’s drying or when dry, is a huge no-no. Straight hair will stay straight when you brush it, but if you disturb the curl while it’s forming all hell breaks loose. If you have curly hair diffuse if you don’t have time to air dry (google it if you’re not sure how, it’s simple though). YOUR HAIR GROWS FROM YOUR SCALP! Doing good stuff to the hair you already have only helps with breakage and dryness that prevents hair from getting longer because it keeps snapping off. That means the main thing for long hair is to eat healthy, take your vitamins (a Biotin supplement if you like), and work from the inside out. My hair has gotten long enough to the point where it is almost at my eyebrows. Harvest males and determine if you want to fertilize your females or not. You might pick one choice female with one choice male. Pollinate the female with the male plant and allow the plant to go to seed. Isolate the “unchosen males” from the females when you are ready to pollinate. Harvest the females when in full “bud.” You can do all of this when you have the heighth and bushiness that you desire. Cactus potting soil work well. Do not overwater. Do not get caught. It is not legal, as I presume you know, to grow cannabis. I forgot one little step. Back to the beginning. Start the seeds in peat pots first until they reach asixe to go into the large pots.
