Rogiane 2% vs. Rogaine 5% Extra Strength

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

Most people assume that more is better and when it comes to hair loss solutions, people definitely believe this. Rogaine for Men comes in two flavors, 2% and 5% extra strength. The 5% solution of Minoxidil is available for men only as the FDA has not approved 5% for wommen (and probably never will as it has not been shown to grow hair more quickly in women). But, 5% Extra Strength Rogaine may not be a better fit for you if you have a sensitive or dry scalp. The 5% solution is a bit more harsh and can cause some irritation on the scalp. We would recommend you try the 5% first to see how your fair (most men have no adverse reactions to the 5% Rogaine). If you experience any irritation on your scalp, discontinue using the product immediately, take some time off, and then you may want to try the 2% Rogaine for Men.

Rogaine 5% has been shown to work up to 40% more quickly than 2%, so it is obviously better at helping people suffering from hair loss. You can read more about both 2% and 5% Rogaine for Men on our website. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email us at info@minoxidil4less.com.

Does Revivogen Formula Work?

Friday, March 25th, 2005

We receive questions every day via phone and email from people who are looking to treat their hair loss. One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is if revivogen works. Of course, the answer is the same for Revivogen as it is with any other hair loss treatment, it works in some people. The only real way of finding out if Revivogen will work for you or someone you know, is to try it for a period of 4 to 6 months. If you are not willing to try it for this long, then do not bother ordering it or trying it, you will not be able to tell if it is in fact able to help you. The nice part about Revivogen is that is is all natural and is much more mild than other over the counter treatments like Rogaine. Revivogen is applied to the scalp two times a day, just like brushing your teeth, and becomes part of your normal daily routine within a couple of weeks. If you have more questions about Revivogen, please visit our Revivogen page for more information or email us with any questions you have.

Rogaine for Women

Wednesday, March 9th, 2005

These days more and more women are realizing that there is over the counter help to help with their hair loss. Many women lose hair for different reasons and if you are one of the millions of women who suffer from hair loss on your scalp, there may be help. Unfortunately, when it comes to hair loss in women, there are many different causes as women’s bodies are very complex. Stress, hormone imbalances, diet and a host of other things can lead to hair loss in women. Many times, these factors will lead to “spotty” hair loss, where women will lose hair in one small patch. This is different than general hair loss or thinning of the hair on the scalp. It is the general thinning on top of the scalp that may be treated by Rogaine. If you have a history of hair loss on your mother’s or father’s side and you are losing hair on the top of your scalp (not a patch of hair), then Rogaine for Women may be able to help you slow your hair loss and in some cases grow it back. For more information on this over the counter treatment (no prescription needed), visit our Rogaine for Women page and FAQ for all of the answers to your questions. If you have a specific question that you cannot find the answer to, please email us and we will get back to you in a flash.

Minoxidil vs Rogaine - Is There A Difference?

Thursday, January 27th, 2005

For years, Rogaine was the only over the counter hair loss solution available to treat hair loss in both men and women. About 3 years ago, the patents on Rogaine were removed and the generic market for Minoxidil opened up. Soon after major pharmeceutical manufacturers like Bauch and Lomb began to produce Minoxidil for generic retail sale. Unfortunately for them, there were many other people who had the same idea and the market was soon flooded with generic Rogine product. This was great for consumers as Minoxidil was plentiful and cheap. But, the question still remained, was Minoxidil different than Rogaine?

The answer is that Rogaine and Minoxidil are exactly the same. I was told this by our representative at Pharmacia & Upjohn, the makers of Rogaine. Now Pharmacia is owned by Pfizer, but the product is still the same. So, you can purchase Minoxidil as a low cost substitute to Rogaine and rest assured that it is just as effective as the brand name Rogaine.

Women’s Hair Loss

Sunday, January 23rd, 2005

Women suffer from hair loss, just as men do, even though it is not as widely publicized. However, there are most likely just as many women that suffer from hair loss as there are men. With that said, there are many differences in the causes of female hair loss from their male counterparts. Many women lose their hair due to stress or because of chemical/hormonal imbalances. It is common in these situations for women to lose hair in spots or clumps. This type of hair loss is not treatable with common over the counter treatments like Rogaine for Women. In these situations, it is best for the woman to consult her physician to help diagnose where the problem is coming from and treating it accordingly. For women with hereditary hair loss, there is good news. Like men, there are over the counter medications like Rogaine and it’s generic counterpart Minoxidil that are readily available. There are even new treatments like Revivogen with new anti-DHT technology built in.

Kirkland Minoxidil

Thursday, January 13th, 2005

For years, Pharmacia and Upjon held a patent to the production of Minoxidil for it’s brand name product Rogaine. In the late 90’s, the patent expired and many large pharmaceutical companies like Bauch and Lomb got into the commercial production of Minoxidil. As with many products, the market became saturated quickly with generic Minoxidil products and the price quickly bottomed out. One of the main reasons for this was the introduction of Kirkland Minoxidil by our friends at Costco. Costco had such a huge advantage as they had such a great sales channel to introduce their new Minoxidil product to. Kirkland Minoxidil was available for purchase over the internet from Costco for a long time, but due to much tighter shipping regulations, they were forced to stop selling on line. Today, specialty outfits like Minoxidil for Less are your best source for Kirkland Minoxidil and other hair loss treatments and information.
