Minoxidil (Generic Rogaine) for women was the first and only product available without a prescription that is medically proven effective to help
regrow hair in women. It is a 2% solution of minoxidil. In clinical studies, four out of five users claimed Minoxidil helped
slow or stop their hair loss. Please note: Our 2% Minoxidil is labeled "For Men". It is the exact same product as the
boxes we used to sell labeled "For Women". Most manufacturers have stopped making the "For Women" labels as there is very little
demand for the generic form of Rogaine.
If your hair is thinning, you're not alone. Hair loss becomes more common as women age--in fact, approximately 20 million women
report hair loss to varying degrees as they mature. Unlike women, who tend to lose hair in specific areas, women will often notice
a gradual thinning of the hair all over the scalp starting on the top of the head--usually most evident where they part their
hair. Many women try to hide their thinning hair through different styling techniques, but Minoxidil may offer a more practical
solution.
Is Minoxidil right for you? The first thing to look at is the cause of your thinning hair. The
foremost causes of hair loss in
women are simply heredity and aging. You can't change your parents, nor can you slow the process of growing older, but, provided
that your hair loss hasn't progressed too far, Minoxidil may help you regrow your hair.
If your hair is thinning and you can see a similar condition on your mother or father or grandmother or grandfather, you may
be a candidate for Minoxidil--heredity is to blame in approximately 90% of women with thinning hair. See your doctor if you are
unsure of the cause of your hair loss.
Who should not use Minoxidil? Minoxidil has not been proven yet to treat hair loss which occurs following a recent pregnancy,
the use of some prescription and non-prescription medications, severe nutritional problems (such as low body iron or excessive
vitamin A intake), the recently discontinued use of birth control pills, severe low thyroid states (known as 'hypothyroidism'),
chemotherapy or any diseases which cause a scarring of the scalp. Similarly, Minoxidil will not be able to help with hair loss
that is caused by damage from hair care products that cause scarring or deep burns in the scalp or with hair loss due to
grooming methods which pull the hair back tightly from the scalp (such as cornrowing or ponytails). Minoxidil is for women who
are experiencing gradual hair loss not related to any of the above causes. It has not been proven to help women experiencing
patchy hair loss.
Minoxidil has been helping women since it was first prescribed by doctors in 1991. It is now available without prescription,
and has been the subject of clinical studies for both women and women. Minoxidil is quick, easy to apply, and more affordable than
ever.
For best results, Minoxidil for women needs to be applied directly to the scalp every day, twice a day.
